Barack Obama Might Own an NBA Team After Being president

With President Barrack Obama about to leave the White House early in January, a lot has been said about what is expected to become of him after. Probably, he will venture in to other careers, while others such as Josh Earnest who is the secretary Obama might become one of the NBA owners. According to Earnest’s statement earlier on Wednesday, President Obama is a very big fan of the Chicago sports team and he has talked about being a part of the ownership group for an NBA contract. Earnest also said that Obama was reviewing on the opportunity to ensure I was the right thing to do.

Talking to the GQ Magazine in November, Obama who is currently 54 years of age said that he had an interest in becoming an owner of the NBA ownership group. He also added that he had earlier on dreamt of being able to bring together a team and thought the idea was very terrific. However, according to Earnest, the President joining an NBA ownership team would be an option to be discussed under the right circumstances. Obama has been noted a few times in the basketball courts and his love for basketball is undeniable. He also went to watch the Chicago Bulls play against Cleveland Cavaliers during the 2015-16 match in United Centre in October last year.

He also participated in a showdown between the Georgetown Hoyas and Blue Devils which took place at Verizon Centre in January 2010. According to his talk with Bill Simmons in GQ last November, Obama came forward to state that he had a dream of being able to run the NBA someday. He also responded to Bill Simmons question of whether he would one day want to have his own team by stating that he would very much love the idea. Meanwhile, for Obama to have a position in the NBA shares, he would have to have a lot of cash which according to Kurt Badenhausen would be around $1.25 billion according to estimates made six months ago.
