A Trend established as Jeff Teague moves in to his parents’ basement

Jeff Teague is said to be back in his hometown, Indianapolis, and living with his parents. This has shocked many but the basketball player appeared complacent with the idea of living in his parents’ basement during a press interview on Wednesday. He decided to stay with his folks following a trade to Indiana Pacers. Jeff said that will be living in his parents’ through the whole NBA season which is considerably a long time. This has been marked the ‘millennial Trend’.

This trend has been mainly due to the current economic status and folks trying to save up but given Jeff’s  $8.8 million deal this season, one would argue that he is making enough money to get his own place. At the same time, the house in Indianapolis is technically his as well, since he had purchased it before moving to Atlanta to play for Atlanta Hawks and gave it to his parents when he officially re-signed .He had also bought a house in Atlanta but sold it after the trade. He jokes that he is not claiming a bedroom in the house, but will be taking the basement and doesn’t really have to worry about curfews.

The new Indiana point guard does not appear bothered at all by this move. Not only is it a cost saving move but it also saves him the pressure of looking for new place.

Statistics indicate that most young  and single  people are moving back home to save on the cost of living. It is a trend that really isn’t so new. The current economic footing in the United States allows only those with very well paying jobs to live separately from their parents, until then, this trend remains.
