Texas Red Eyes Redemption

It has been a routine that in most cases, the winner of Breeders’ cup Juvenile has been horses that may be aged over three years. Under this, the under 3 years of age have had no place in the tournament as it has been only 12 under three winners in the last 52 events. Texas Red a three year old horse will be looking forward to take his tally to two wins and a second consecutive one after he won the title last year. It will take him extra effort to beat the standing history which has been in existence for a century. Most notably is that in the past 20 years, two juveniles Street Sense and Favorite Trick are the only horses to be crown winners.

The main thing that has shown less wins for under threes has been attributed to early retirement that may occur due to injuries. Recently, Texas Red was deemed to take an early retirement only to appear 100% later on. He finished second during the Dwyer and it showed that he would prove doubters wrong come this year’s edition.

Being physically fit would be the key issue here as the smaller Jim Dandy course would pose a strong arena for all. Frosted would come back to the track and will be ready to avoid in silly mistake that would deem him a failure. Despite having bad moments at the Belmont, Materiality is deemed to be back on form whereas Japan who comes on a brick of two amazing wins is expected to pose a great threat to Texas Red and others.

It will be a tough challenge to Texas Rd but will have an extra advantage as experience would play a major role here. His jockey Kent Desormeaux who is a veteran and skilled rider would have his skills put on practice here. The two are deemed to be the best partnering ever and this would accelerate their motivation in winning the race.

If Texas Red displays his ultimate performance which he showed at the Arlington Park the previous summer, he is more expected to top the table and be crowned the winner. He would however be ready and focused to rewrite the standing history this weekend.
