South African youngster kills England off

Kagiso Rabada was the man of the match at SuperSport Park after he produced one of his best shows in South African cricket jersey smashing England deep in a black hole. The 20 year old was outstanding and starred throughout the game as South African condemned England in their seven wickets for 49 runs in 13.4 overs. This happened despite England resuming on 52 for three.

However, this loss didn’t forbid the Englishmen in clinching the Basil D’ Oliveira trophy since they had won in 241 run at Kingsmead which was followed by 8-wicket win at the Bidvest Wanderers Stadium.

In spite of thrashing England in the match, South Africa still is ranked 3rd in the ICC test match. Captain AB de Villiers claimed that he was proud of his team who fired it up for the match and he claimed that this would be the start of upcoming success in the near future.

The full potential of Rabada was evident as he recorded figures of 13-144 which made history to be the best to have ever recorded in a total of 21 tests held at SuperSport Park. Among them was his 6-32 in 10.3 overs accrued in the second innings.

England captain Alastair Cook was disappointed by the way his team played in the five days but also found time to congratulate the South Africans for their brave approach of the match. At the same time, Ben Stokes was awarded with the man of the series award after he accrued 411 runs and 12 wickets which brought an average of 29.11.

South Africa has been hit by careless mistakes emanating from lack of concentration in batting that has led to their three test losses to India. This would later be followed by their initial loss to England at the Kingsmead.

The two teams had the following players for the match:

ENGLAND: AN Cook (capt), AD Hales, BA Stokes, CR Woakes, SCJ Broad, JM Anderson, NRD Compton, JE Root, JM Bairstow (wk), MM Ali and JWA Taylor.

SOUTH AFRICA: AB de Villiers (capt), KJ Abbott, M Morkel, K Rabada, DL Piedt, D Elgar, SC Cook, HM Amla, JP Duminy, T Bavuma and Q de Kock (wk).
