The NCAA basketball championship selection show to air for two hours starting Sunday, March 13 from 5.30pm to 7.30 pm ET on CBS. The show features an exclusive live first time announcement of 2016 NCAA Division 1 pairings for Men’s Basketball championship. Both CBS sports and Turner sports will begin the Final Four this year with the newly extended show.
Compared to the previous show, the extended selection show will feature more discussions, more analysis, more interviews and more reactions from the different teams as they get to learn their opponent and even their region.
Greg Gumbel, together with Ernie Johnson will host the show from New York City at the CS Broadcast Centre. Doug Gottlieb, Seth Davis, Charles Barkley, Clark Kellog and Kenny Smith will offer analysis breakdown. Previously, the show lasted one hour from 6 to 7 pm.
The Chairman of NCAA Division 1, Men’s Basketball committer Joseph R. Castiglione will also join the studio for discussions regarding the selection process.
This year, the Selection show marks its 35th edition, which was first aired in March 7,1982 on CBS from 5.30 to 6 pm. However, in March 10,2002, the 30-minute show expended to one hour.
Users on mobile devices and tablets can also access the show via the March Madness live app or stream the show via NCAA March Madness live .
For six consecutive years, CBS sports and Turner sports has managed to provide live coverage across four television networks including TNT, CBS, TBS and truTV as well as through NCAA March Madness Live of all the games from 2016 NCAA Division I men’s Basketball Championship .
This year’s final four national semifinals, which will be held on April 2 will be aired on TBS together with the national championship which will take place on April 4
