Dettori landed at the Lexington Blue Grass Airport on Tuesday with one major aim of winning the anticipated event. First he paid his riding horse at the Keeneland training centre. The Italian claimed that he was focused on the upcoming Saturday a mile-and-a-half race that would be a farewell for Coral-Eclipse, Investec Derby, Irish Champion Stakes and Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner.
He has been playing a mind game in his rail’s gate stand as well as the fundamental well-being and eradication of any pressure during his stay in Kentucky. While alighting from the plane, he jokingly asked the reporters to spare him any pressure for he had just landed.
He added that despite landing that morning, he took his time to visit the track and check on the Golden Horn. He claimed that his new ride looked amazing and each individual was happy to see them getting along together.
He was asked about the vulnerability of Golden Horn in different weather conditions but claimed that the weather would not be an excuse or a hindrance in the race as the two will be putting extra effort to win the race in any condition of the day. This comes after the weather man claimed that it would persist raining during the race day.
He added that he was great to arrive early so that he can be in a position of training in the rain before the race day which is presumed to have a rainy day. He continued to say that the event will take a week and after this he assumes to take a break and a holiday with his family of whom he hasn’t spent more time this year.
Dettori has a tight schedule with five fides for Wesley Ward in a span of three days. He will also partner with the trainer’s horse during the Polytrack. He elaborated this by saying that on Thursday he will take two rides for Wesley with three races on the Breeders Cup which will include one at the Turf Sprint. He wished that it would be a glorious moments to ride with her.
