A new Sport betting Integrity Action Plan has been initiated by the Sports Betting Integrity Forum (SBIF). The betting commission despite the fact that illegal betting has been minimized in the UK apart from few cases, it body is yet to be satisfied.
The new plan stipulates ways in which the government of the UK will incorporate in fighting illegal betting with more attention focused on Gambling Commission, Player Associations, Betting operators, Sports governing bodies, Law enforcements as well as the government and all these would help in the identification of match fixing scandals in order to maintain the dignity of sports betting.
Tracey Crouch the Minister for Sport and Gambling claimed that it is their duty to safeguard the veracity of sport in every way possible. She added that the main objective of the Sport Betting Integrity Action Plan is to ensure that betting in UK is made safely and eradicating any corruption case that may arise. This would give fans, viewers as well as contestants’ confidence in the faithfulness of the sport they take part in. consequently, wagers would have the freedom and would bravely place any bet without fear of losing the wage. The wagers should be accorded with trust in that they can wage their income in free and fair betting platforms.
This was echoed by the Law enforcement agencies who claimed that they would dispose every force including the National Police Chiefs Council (NPCC), Police Scotland as well as the National Crime Agency (NCA) in giving mutual support to the SBI Action Plan. The agencies continued to claim that it is also their duty to protect sports betting from any corruption of illegal match fixing.
Darren Bailey and Mike O’Kane the two chairs of the SBIF claimed that keeping faithfulness in sport is fundamental in the future of betting developments in the nation. The Action Plan backed by other stakeholders will be determined to keep Sports betting pure by eradicating any threat that comes along no matter its magnitude.
This Plan is a subsidiary of the Report of the Sports Betting Integrity that was initiated in 2010 and will make way for the UK Anti-Corruption Plan initiated in 2014. The SBIF will publish reports gathered yearly starting from October this year.
