John Boyle the man behind the success of Co Armagh has a vision of expanding his markets outside Ireland with his main target being the UK. The 58 year old millionaire who fought his drinking problem in the 1980s remembers when he secure a loan of £6,000 and £12,00 from father and bank opened a shop under Markethill in 1982 and its from here that the company grew drastically. In 1989, he opened a second shop in Drogheda; the Co Louth and it has grown to have 210 stores in Ireland.
The chain has it operation on phone betting and betting app which brings betting at the hands of a client. Despite this, he believes that the online betting shops will remain popular. He claimed that the return of football seasons has made several gamblers access the betting shops to place various bets. This comes after a two month off season where many clients were not involved in much betting.
Recently, Boylesport claimed that it is planning to increase the number of betting shops from 210 to around 250. This comes after it was claimed by Belfast telegraph that the chain had already acquired two shops on the north of the nation. The two; Newry and Crossmaglen will be renamed as Boylesport.
John is now focused in venturing in a potential UK market where other betting firms such as Ladbrokes and Gala Coral are joining hands. However, the passing of the partnership would make Competition and Markets Authority require for the shedding of extra 600 shops.
John has an idea of popularizing Boylesport across UK and has a vision of having a total of over 800 shops in both UK and Ireland. He claimed that he would initiated several betting shops in UK with an attempt of starting on a higher note unlike the two he started with in his home country.
The CEO and a father of seven claims that he loves his work and that’s why he incorporated all his family members to it and he would work to the extent that his family will be able to handle it properly once he retires in his favorite and beloved Rostrevor in Ireland.
