Most betting firms have tried to make them popular to many clients across the globe via a number of ways. Sponsoring major event or major teams are one of the many ideas that these firms have incorporated. The Unibet has initiated one strategic step in the process. The Netherlands National Cycling Association (KNWU) claimed that Unibet, a renowned European Online bookmaker will be their official cycling sponsors.

The KNWU and Unibet struck a deal that would see the latter being the main sponsor of the Netherlands cycling for four consecutive years as from 2017. This comes after the KNWU unveiled their team jersey that is orange in color with six green dots that symbolize the main logo of Unibet.

Nonetheless, the official confirmation as the only sponsor of Netherlands Cycling will have to wait as the bookmaker still awaits the decision of the Dutch online gambling market in whether or not the firm should be awarded with operational license.

The KNWU Chairman Marcel Wintels told the national media that he was eager to welcome with open hands the bookmaker into Dutch cycling claiming that this sponsorship was very important in the continuity of cycling sport in Holland.

He said that having to finance the sport is one of the complicated areas where the association has faced. The sport must try to undertake another dimension in coming days as they cannot just rely on their present associates.

The KNWU heads claimed that they were for the position that the bookmaker is in regards to the Dutch online betting market. The bookmaker which has is base in Stockholm; Sweden had earlier stipulated that if given a chance, it would enter the licensed Dutch market under the stipulated rules.

Nonetheless, this has gone astray in the nation as a number of parliamentarians have claimed that the firm must comply with the fixed 29% tax revenue to be forwarded to the government account at the end of every financial year. This seems to be an unfair ruling for Unibet.
