Raikkonen eager to retain Ferrari seat

Raikkonen eager to retain Ferrari seat

After leaving Ferrari in 2009, Kimi Raikkonen returned back in 2013 where he signed for a two year contract. With this contract set to expire, the Finn claims that he would like to continue with his F1 carrer and hope that Ferrari would add him an extra contract. He had a massive entry in F1 with Ferrari when he won the world title in 2007 but of late he has been faced by out of form situations which have led him finishing 12 in last year’s edition of the Driver’s Championship.

His out of form would no longer be a question as Ferrari has now improved his 2015 car. This was claimed by his team mate Sebastian Vettel. Vettel is improving greatly of late being only 48 points behind Raikkonen. He scooped the Malaysian Grand Prix and has won four of the seven events he has been involved in. on the other hand, Raikkonen has only won once and didn’t finish his previous race staged in Austria after a collision with ex-teammate Fernado Alonso.

In spite of all these ups and downs, Raikkonen is confident that Ferrari would accord him with an extra contract up to 2016. He claimed that all would be based upon the remedies that Ferrari would take. He added that he submit hi request and all the company has to do is to sign it.

He added that if he doesn’t get another contract, he would be forced to shift to another team as he was reluctant to hang his career this year. Hi love for F1 had been his number one motivation in every event he takes part. He added that F1 is not always amusing when incidents such as collision happen. He hoped that what happened between him and Alonso in Austria would be the last incident. He said that he has the freedom to walk away from the team and in the future he sees him battling against this team for the good of himself and the team he would be representing.

After Austria Raikkonen heads for the British Grand Prix from which he is expected to win the race. However, he faces stiff competition from home boy and reigning world champion Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.

Betting on Formula 1 Races

Betting on Formula 1 Races

Formula 1 is loud, exciting, fast and glamorous. These are some of the things that should attract you to betting on Formula 1. Whether you are betting for fun or to make some money from it, I have all the information you need so as to know how Formula 1 betting goes down or make a smart bet.

The more you are furnished with formula 1 betting information, the better your chances are of betting the odds.

Main Formula 1 bets

Drivers’ World Championship is one of the bets to place on Formula 1 races. This is the bet on the driver that will win overall on the whole season. The winner will be determined by the points they accrue at the end of the race.

Another bet you can have would be the Constructors’ World Championship which is similar to the drivers’ world championship. This bet will combine the two cars that each team will run. The winner will be determined by the team and constructor that attain the most points.

Another bet you might consider taking would be the podium finish. This is similar to backing a place in horse racing. Opposed to backing a driver each way, you will be in a position to back them to get on the podium alone (first three) in any race. Similar to the podium bet, there is the top six finish which you will be betting on the top six and not the first three; and this is similar to a top 10 finish.

Other kinds of bets you might come across include; pole position and the fastest lap.

Advice to carry with you to a sportsbook

As you go about your Formula 1 betting, you need to be smart and do your analysis rather than depending on the odds being offered in the bookies.

You can have more than one sportsbook to bet on. This will make it possible for you to shop for more odds other than relying on one bookie. After comparing odds on more than 3 betting sites, bet on with the sportsbook that has the best odds.

As I said earlier, do not rely on the odds alone; check on things like the weather, and previous performances of the teams and drivers on similar race tracks.

Wrong Pit Call costs Hamilton

Wrong Pit Call costs Hamilton

Hamilton says that it was a collective decision for him and his team mates to pit as they thought that their rivals had also pitted.

Lewis Hamilton says that he thought Sebastian Vettel and Nico Rosberg were also making pit stop for new tyres in the closing stage of the Monaco GP. This was the major cause for his loss in the Monaco GP.

This formula 1 champion had a clear advantage at the end of the field but making a pit with 13 laps for him to go was a mistake. Hamilton said that a look at one of the side screens on the track made him think that his rivals were also making a pit stop. He said that he relies on the team and when he saw a screen out, he thought that the other racers were also making a stop.

On the other hand, he could not see the guys behind him which made him think that they were also making a pit. His team had asked him to stay out but he thought that his tyres would fall in temperature; they said that he should pit and he was confident that other racers had also made a pit.

Even though Hamilton says he has not contacted the strategists, his team also shoulders the blame as they had miscalculated the gap between Hamilton and the other racers.

Lewis had a flawless drive and made delivery to a perfect weekend with a masterful race and a pole lap. There is not much to this loss but congratulate him for the grace he handled the situation with.

Hamilton came in third behind Rosberg and Vettel even though he had a faster and fresher car; he was unable to go past the Ferrari driver. Overtaking on Monaco is difficult but Ted Kravitz would not comprehend as to why he gave up his track position.

Kravitz said that even if Vettel had made a stop, Mercedes would still have the track position. He believes that track position it king and even when on quicker tyres, Vettel would not be in a position to go past like Hamilton was unable.
