Seventh Heaven is the reason O’Brien got his 5th Irish Oak

Seventh Heaven is the reason O’Brien got his 5th Irish Oak

Aiden O’ Brien received a fifth victory in the Curragh Classic as a stablemate and odds-on favorite after Seventh Heaven bounced back from a substandard effort in the Investec Oaks. Song also completed the race well beaten. The winner finished in a 14-1 victory and scored decisively from British raiders Architecture and Harlequeen in second and third. This is after he extended clear under Seamie Heffernan.  In a statement O’ Brien said that Seamie had a second pick and wanted to ride Seventh Heaven after Ryan picked Even Song. He was right when he thought that the Curragh would suit Song better than Epsom.

They are even considering sending her to the Yorkshire Oaks since she has been working in a very good manner. She even enjoyed the ground, O’ Brien stated that they had always considered her a high class filly.  Following her first win at the highest level, Paddy Power made Seventh Heaven a 5-1 joint favorite for the Yorkshire Oaks. O’ Brien has been training four runners with Pretty Perfect being among them. Perfect made sure that a descent pace was maintained in the race. Aboard the Investec Oaks Frank Dettori is the one who took the glory. Architecture had two furlongs to go. Heffernan had the race covered aboard Seventh Heaven. He managed to quicken up well in the last furlong and managed to score a convincing win.

Even Song got held up in the late run but did not quicken in the home straight. Moore managed to ease himself off the Ribblesdale winner. O’ Brien blamed himself for training the filly too hard for the Ribblesdale. He was however positive she would manage to come out from the set back. The trainer of the runner-up Architecture, Hugo Palmer commented saying that even though they did not win, their filly had managed to run another great race. The filly had only been beaten narrowly in the Lingfield Oaks Trial. He added that Architecture deserved to win in a Group 1 after she raced in Epsom. They are considering sending for the German Oaks even though she is in the Yorkshire Oaks.

There was little response as the daughter of Teofilo was pushed along by Andrea Atzeni. This made the Italian Rider allow her to make her way home at the back of the field.

Levey pleased with his position in the Investec Derby

Levey pleased with his position in the Investec Derby

Sean Levey is by far the most joyous racer there is. This is after he came fifth in position in the Investec Derby supplementary entry Humphrey Bogart. Though the owner didn’t return the whole bunch of money as expected, at least he was happy. He failed to return 75,000 Euros because he got 41,560.50 in return. Levey said that although he didn’t finish first what really thrilled him was the ambience as the race begun and ended. Trainer Richard Hannon was very proud of him as he looked at the Irish Derby and Royal Ascot because he had taken a massive step up.

Simcock was very pleased by Aglometers outcome. His trainer said though he lacked acceleration at the beginning of the race and during the race he managed not to fall and stay at the end. And at the end he managed to gallop to the line even though it was already past time. Sheikh Hamdans racing manager said that Qipco 2,000 didn’t do his best during the much. He said that was so because they had worked him up over a mile and a half the other day and he did pretty well compared to what he did during the game. He couldn’t explain the reason why he came that position though he had done everything.

Ulysses emerged position 12. Michael Strutes who`s the trainer of Ulysses was very disappointed by this outcome. Jockey Andera  Atzeni explained how Ulysses had travelled nicely into the race but on reaching near the finish line he felt the ground a little. This made his speed decelerate and thus was defeated by the rest. Jockey continued by saying that he thinks Ulysses need nicer ground which won’t affect his galloping stamina or lose balance. Cloth of star emerged position eight and Moonlight Magic came last.

Sammy Jo Bell to be on a Wheelchair for 6 weeks

Sammy Jo Bell to be on a Wheelchair for 6 weeks

It seems that Sammy Jo Bell will spend a lot more time out of the game than the expected time. This is due to the accident which occurred to her at Carlisle when a rider accidentally fractured her pelvis a week ago. She is now expected to spend six weeks in a wheelchair. Unfortunately that was the time Bell was expected to be out of activity but doctors said surgery wouldn’t be necessary as it was said that a plate would be inserted to reinforce her pelvis. This made the date on which shed be out in action unknown.

Sammy Jo Bell got injured when her mount Duchess reared, departing out of the show ring and fell on her on Thursday. Bell said that there’s nothing she could do to her problem or fasten her healing. She said that the only thing she could do at that particular time was to wait and get on with it. She also added that she will do anything she can to heal quickly as possible because she needed to get back in action. She also said that she hadn’t discussed with the surgeon what she can do and what she can’t do. This is due to the fact that she hadn’t seen the surgeon since the operation. Continuing she said that, though she knows that she can’t do anything with her legs, she doesn’t know if she can do anything with any part of her upper body so as to keep her fitness up. Bell who’s Richard Fahey`s young leaner shown last summer as she became the first female rider to be  coroneted as leading jockey during the Shergar Cup added saying that “There’s never an ideal time to get injured , but the middle of the season had to be the worst.”

She concluded by saying that she’s happy to be alive because she knows something terrible than that could have happened because it was a nasty moment. To sum up everything she assured people that once she’s out of the wheelchair shell get into rehab and try to get back to the game. She ended by saying she didn’t have a target at the moment but was only looking forward to getting better.
