LeBron says he is motivated by Jordan’s ghost

LeBron says he is motivated by Jordan’s ghost

LeBron James is at the moment trying to chase the ghost of the greatest player in NBA history. He is however not talking about trying to match Michael Jordan’s accomplishments. According to Sports Illustrated interview with James, he had told young players in a camp in Los Angeles that he was focused in chasing Michael Jordan’s ghost. He made this statement shortly after he brought Cleveland their first title since 1964 after leading the Cavaliers to an NBA championship. The ghost that LeBron James is chasing is Jordan who led the Bulls in winning the six titles.

Jordan has been James’ idol since he was a kid and he has so much respect for him. James who is 31 years of age has been avoiding questions about his participation in Jordan’s influential company and he hopes to create an image using his very strong resume. In this statement that he made with SI’s Lee Jenkins he stated that he had a different career calling than Michael Jordan. He expressed disbelief in Michael Jordan’s abilities saying his performance was tremendous. James is only halfway in matching the number of titles that Jordan has won over the years. He however managed to beat Golden State in a 3-1 score and that was one moment that will always be remembered.

James agreed that that the match was the biggest he had played. He did not participate in the fourth U.S. Olympic basketball team during the summer since he spent his off-season at home carrying out various business activities back in L.A. “Let it go, play hard, be focused, follow my lead, and I’ll make sure you get home for a Game 6.” This is a text that James sent his teammates after they lost to the Warriors in Game 4. He is determined to bring a championship to his home state according to what he stated in the SI piece.

A Trend established as Jeff Teague moves in to his parents’ basement

A Trend established as Jeff Teague moves in to his parents’ basement

Jeff Teague is said to be back in his hometown, Indianapolis, and living with his parents. This has shocked many but the basketball player appeared complacent with the idea of living in his parents’ basement during a press interview on Wednesday. He decided to stay with his folks following a trade to Indiana Pacers. Jeff said that will be living in his parents’ through the whole NBA season which is considerably a long time. This has been marked the ‘millennial Trend’.

This trend has been mainly due to the current economic status and folks trying to save up but given Jeff’s  $8.8 million deal this season, one would argue that he is making enough money to get his own place. At the same time, the house in Indianapolis is technically his as well, since he had purchased it before moving to Atlanta to play for Atlanta Hawks and gave it to his parents when he officially re-signed .He had also bought a house in Atlanta but sold it after the trade. He jokes that he is not claiming a bedroom in the house, but will be taking the basement and doesn’t really have to worry about curfews.

The new Indiana point guard does not appear bothered at all by this move. Not only is it a cost saving move but it also saves him the pressure of looking for new place.

Statistics indicate that most young  and single  people are moving back home to save on the cost of living. It is a trend that really isn’t so new. The current economic footing in the United States allows only those with very well paying jobs to live separately from their parents, until then, this trend remains.

Dwyane Wade got into a $47 Million Contract with the Bulls

On Thursday while co-hosting “Live with Kelly” Dwyane Wade who is a NBA free agent claimed that LeBron cheap is cheap when out on vacations. This came shortly after he announced his decision to quit home team after he signed a two-year contract with Chicago Bulls for $47million. Dwyane has been playing for Miami Heat for the last 13 years where he had an offer of $40million. Kelly Ripa during the behind-the-scenes segment asked Dwyane who was the cheapest NBA player he had vacationed with and he surprisingly mentioned his good friend LeBron James. However, that statement was meant to be a joke, since being a miser is well accepted.

Dwyane Wade had been having some scuffles with his team Miami Heat for the last few days. They had a meeting in New York on Monday with Micky Arison who is the owner of Miami Heat. Arison took it to himself to thank Wade for his participation in the team for the last 13 years. Chicago Bulls were more than willing to take Dwyane after he failed to reach an agreement with Arison, where he was finally signed out of Heat.  According to ESPN reports Chicago Bulls decided to trade players in order to create space for Wade. According to a report by Dwyane on USA Today, he was very proud for all that the team had accomplished in the last years.

The huge increase in salary limits has led to teams handing out record amounts to players. Jimmy Butler who is Bull’s shooting guard held a conversation with Wade via phone. Wade was recruited in the team on Wednesday and both Butler and Wade will be playing together in addition to been in the same University, Marquette University. Wade had sometimes back wished to play for Milwaukee Bucks which was closely connected to the University. However, the team did not have the $50million required by Wade. Bulls’ player Jose Calderon has been traded to Los Angeles Lakers. Dwyane’s products are being sold by Miami Heat for $13million. This is according to Larry Brown Sports reports.

The Return of Ray Allen To The NBA

The Return of Ray Allen To The NBA

Remember the 2014 NBA finals, when Miami Heat lost to the San Antonio Spurs? Then this man, Ray Allen, should be no stranger to you. Despite him being out of the NBA court for two years, he seems to be eyeing the two most recent NBA Champions, Golden State Warriors and Cavaliers.

The Golden State Warriors have been keen to add the 10-time NBA All-Star to their roster for the past two years. The Warriors have recently landed the former MVP Kevin Durant to go along with their All-NBA players Stephen Curry. They have also signed Draymond Greens and Klay Thompson in a bid to further fortify their roster.  Zaza Pachulia and David West, free agents, center and forward respectively, have also been signed in; however, the warriors seem not to have had enough as they are interested to sign in Ray Allen.

Important to note is the fact that despite of Allen being off the court for the last two seasons, he has not filed retirement papers with the league office, neither has he commented publicly of his desire to continue playing, he confirmed that he was far from retiring, he said this last August to Dom Amore of the Hartford Courant, further confirming that in case something came to the table he would take a keen look at it.

Regardless of him being out of the season for the last two years, he has maintained a remarkable shape throughout and taking into consideration his nutrition. He even opened an organic fast-food eatery last February. Thus if the teams confirm on his fitness and form then we would definitely see him on the NBA court once again.

Are the wolves ready for the NBA Free Agency?

Are the wolves ready for the NBA Free Agency?

NBA fans most times look forward to the NBA free agency period. This period lasts for about 48 hours and is usually the most entertaining and the craziest and is the period where teams begin speaking to free agents. NBA Twitter is also very active at this period where there are rumors, meetings, midnight visits and salary figure discussions. In this season there is an increase in salary figures to about $94M. There is an increase in cap space to around $27M where the Wolves will be going to the free agency with about three free roster spots. This is despite the fact that Doogie Wolfson has a different amount of $29M recorded in his podcast. This period the league does not have a lot of money to spend on the free agents class during the summer.

This is to mean that there will be some big contracts set aside for insignificant guys that will cause regret in the coming period. Wolves are interested in some players and Darren Wolfson in his podcast link has cited eight of them. The players include Eric Gordon, Kris Humphries, D.J Augustin. Joakim Noah, Ryan Anderson, Courtney Lee, Randy Foye and Luol Deng, Anderson seems to have been doing poorly in his recent games. Foye and Gordon do not seem to give much hope in the NBA games. Other players that are of interest include Mizra Teletovic, Zaza Pachulia, John Leur among many others. The New York Liberty will be hosted by Lynx where they will try to get back on track even though they have had major improvements moving from 10-5.

Pat Summitt who was a great pioneer of the women’s basketball team has passed on. She was also a well-known coach and worked hard to make the women’s college game popular. She coached at Tennessee and won 8 national titles, 1098 wins in 38 seasons. Her competitiveness, longevity and her ability to bring her team to the limelight made her stand out among others. She was a great person and will be remembered more so because of her personal attributes.
