Thomas Rawls promises to be ready for the camp

The Seattle Seahawks are not sure what the future holds for them. This came after Marshawn Lynch’s retirement. However, Thomas Rawls is ready to take his place; he said that Rehab was going phenomenal. He said that in front of reporters shortly before Richard Sherman’s charity softball game held in Seattle and supported by ESPN. He is eager to start off during the first one week. He also announced that he had been working pretty hard to fill the vacant space in the backfield since Rehab session was becoming quite an exception. Rawls’s who is a second- year back is recovering from a fractured ankle and ligament injury that occurred in December 13th.

The injury occurred while he was playing against Baltimore Ravens which led to a 35-6 win. He did not take part in any of the Seahawks’ spring practices. Rawls also had amazing confidence in how his body healed and the way it responded to rehab. He was willing to be back to camp in April but his trainers were not quite sure whether it would be possible to be back that soon especially since the April is drawing closer. According to Peter Carroll’s statement last month, Rawls is expected to be ready at the start of the season but they are not going to rush him during the summer season. Early in May Carroll added that they would take it easy during the training camp. They were ready to help him in his healing process no matter how long it would take him.

Replacing Lynch is not going unnoticed in Seattle according to Rawls’ comments. Rawls has handled 830 yards and four touchdowns as a recruit in the beginning of the seven games while at the same time splitting carries with a banged-up Lynch. He proved that he could handle himself well in 2015 thus proving that he could easily be Seahawk’s main ball carrier if he comes out healthy. C.J Prosise, Zac Brooks and Alex Collins has been put down in 2016 even though the staff is not very worried thus choosing to show aggression in the running backs. Christine Michael was also among the potential candidates available to replace Lynch.

Cardinals’ president believes that digital distribution of games in NFL is the way to go

NFL will have a new major online distributor as the main media partner. For a long time traditional television networks such as NBC, CBS, network ESPN, FOX and the satellite provider DirecTV have been NFL’S main media partners. Michael Bidwill who is the Cardinals President on PTF Live said that he hopes that online video distributors such as You Tube, Amazon, or Netflix will one day outweigh the traditional media companies and start transmitting NFL games. The Cardinals president is very much hopeful that NFL will someday be transmitted by online video distributors.

However, he has worries on how they will be able to evolve to online media distributors. In his statement he said that the best thing to do for now is listening to what their fans have to say about the online media distributors and whether they would be open for NFL games being transmitted online. He also noted that a number of their fans were now using digital devices and also made use of mobile devices and other handheld devices such as iPads. Michael Bidwill says he wants to make use of that digital migration by fans.

The new documentary series of All or Nothing which makes its first performance on July 1st is as a result of the partnership between Cardinals and Amazon. It will be aired on Amazon Prime and Michael Bidwill has hopes that the series will be able to capture various new fans for the NFL games from outside Arizona. The series will also be a sure way of broadcasting their story all over the country and expanding their footprints as well as their fan base. According to Michael Bidwill NFL still hopes to expand its fan base all over the world, and the use of online distributor services such as YouTube, Netflix, and Amazon will be the start of broadcasting their games online.

NFL fans had a lot to say about the new expected transition. Most of them were in support of it while some said that the transition was not entirely possible. One of the fans said that NFL had to first expand a Prime-ticket like service in order to transition to online distributors.

Von Miller, Broncos at a dead end over assured money

Von Miller, Broncos at a dead end over assured money

Everyone knows Von Miller. He is a super Bowl MVP. Recently, he denied a very big offer. An offer in form of a contract which could have made him the highest paid justificatory star by the NFLs .As James Palmer reported, Von Miller rejected $114.5 million. The value would have been by far the greatest anyone who`s a non- quarterback could ever get. Nevertheless, Broncos haven’t pulled the offer just yet. It is surprising though they had set a deadline on 10p.m on Tuesday. The agreement was that if the offer wouldn’t be accepted by then they would pull it off.

On Wednesday, on Inside Minicamp Live, palmer said that negotiations remain ongoing and that Broncos continue reassessing their superb position. Many questions continue crossing peoples mind, like why haven’t the Broncos not pulled the offer? Why and what is their next move. Two questions outwitted the others though phrased differently. Allotting on Ian Rapoport a question is poised on where Miller and Broncos Stand on assured money. The other question is the sum he needs to make or have made over the first three years of the bargain. These contingents build to play an outstanding role in the on-going contract give-and-take. Many people wait to see how the discussions will fair.

Per source conversant with the negotiations Miller doesn’t have any problem with part of the deal. This deal includes the broader six-year terms which are chained to $114.5 million conditions. This was added by Rand Getlin who`s NFLs Media. Denver had a goal to achieve. The common goal to him was to find ample time and space to spend and give ear to this week’s minicamp with Miller. John Elway set a soft deadline this week because of Ryan Clady and Demaryius Thomas who contended after leaving out offseason action in 2013 and 2015.

Early on this week Miller confidently stated that, throughout the Broncos` White House visit on Monday there was “real progress” as a new deal had been made. If by July 15 the bargain wouldn’t have been reached by both parties, during the 2016 season, Miller will have to exhaust the $141.129 million dealership tag.

Studies from the Congress indicate that NFL attempted to Influence research on Concussion

Studies from the Congress indicate that NFL attempted to Influence research on Concussion

The National Institutes of Health backed up the idea of the N.F.L agreeing to contribute tens of millions of dollars to concussion research as they saw this as an opportunity of reducing the permanent effects of head injuries on players. The N.F.L agreed to this decision back in 2012 and they agreed to have no control over how the funds were to be used.  However, the N.F.L officials were overly corrupt and tried all means of hiring their own doctor according to a congressional committee which released its research on Monday. The N.F.L denied these accusations in a statement carried out by Democratic members of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

The N.F.L has a long history of trying to mishandle concussion research which goes way back to the time when they first decided to follow up on crisis by using faulty information to come up with various studies. According to Dr. Richard Ellenbogen’s research in 2013 who proposed to carry out the research on how the funds were being used and later on petitioned to dishonor the findings of Dr. Stern who had initially being given credit on that work. Nothing much has changed over the last years, Dr. Elliot Pelliman who was the leader of the league’s concussion committee is still present though his work was dishonored since his study was suspicious and he never came out to support the permanent effects of head injuries on players.

Recent members of the committee include, Dr. Richard Ellenbogen who discredited the research findings of Dr. Robert Stern, who is a Boston neurologist. Others include Representative Frank Pallone Jr. of New Jersey who supervised the study and accused the N.F.L of trying to negatively influence research that they agreed to fund and then leave the rest to the research team. According to Mr. Pallone the disagreements between the N.F.L and the N.I.H arise due to the attempts made by the N.F.L to interfere with the research conducted on life-long effects of head injuries. ESPN were the original reporters of the results of the study, and also critiqued the Foundation for the National Institutes of Health for failing to adequately defend the relationship between N.I.H and the N.F.L.
