A bad day for Microsoft during NFL playoff

A bad day for Microsoft during NFL playoff

There was a lapse in the connection of the network on tablets provided by Microsoft during an NFL playoff match featuring New England Patriots. This was a huge disappointment for the players as well as the coaches who were unable to review any of the play.

Apparently, Microsoft entered into a deal with the NFL back in 2013. The deal which is believed to be worth over $400 million claimed that Microsoft will be the official provider of its Tablets which many referred to as ‘iPads’ which enabled the commentators and coaches to review plays.

Since this deal, things have not been 100% sure as another downfall was evidence last Sunday as the TV viewers for the championship match that involved New England Patriots and Denver Broncos were disappointed when they were notified of a possible failure to the tablets on the Patriot’s sidelines.

Evans Washburn who is a CBs side reporter claimed that the Patriot’s staff team was having some problem with the tablets which made it impossible for their coaches to see their defensive players. The NFL team immediately came in to solve the problem with some tablets able to continue their purpose while others could not bring up any image from the pitch.

The problem persisted through the first half of the game but the tablets would resume to full functioning in the second half. Through its spokesman, Microsoft claimed that the problem was associated with network connectivity rather than tablet malfunctioning.

The company released a statement on Sunday which said that the problem was related to a network connectivity problem rather than a malfunctioning problem. He also added that the problem will never be experienced again as they have talked to their network partners to look deep into the matter.

The following day, NFL released a statement which assured its clients that Microsoft was not responsible for the problem but it was from a network connectivity failure. Brain McCarthy a spokesperson of NFL claimed that towards the 1st half, the Patriot’s coaches were left on a stand still as pictures from the field went missing. This was not a malfunctioning of the Microsoft tablets but network failure. He assured that this season had no tablet malfunction but network connectivity.

Oakland now faced with fierce NFL competition from San Antonio and San Diego

Oakland now faced with fierce NFL competition from San Antonio and San Diego

The deal of moving the Chargers to Kroenkeworld is yet to be struck and hence bringing an enormous makeshift to the NFL. This comes after it is alleged that the available spots in Los Angeles have been assigned to two teams and this is a huge blow for the league which is not ready for taking a huge risk in making use of the public cash as well as other amenities in the construction of a new stadium for the Raiders.

The Rams were the leading team to be handed a place in L.A. later it would be claimed that the Raiders would be shifting to San Antonio. Chargers, on the contrary, have been given the notice to vacate San Diego and it is believed that their possible and only destination would be at the southern part of Los Angeles.

Adam Schefter believes that there is a high possibility of raiders to have a final destination if by any chance the Chargers leave. However, other sources claim that Raiders will not be making any possible trip to L.A. at the same time; it is not clear on the state of Oakland team that is just watching the drama unfolding without any contribution and especially to the building of the new stadium.

For NFL fanatics, it is clear that the Texans and the Cowboys have nothing in common to share. Nevertheless, if Charges decide to vacate, then Oakland would be left in a deep shock as San Diego would opt to replace the Chargers rather than building a new stadium. This would also see the new rivalry in town, and this may be the turning point for voters to be against the building of a new stadium if at all ballot box voting would be necessary to break the conflict.

Raiders will have to keep it cool in Oakland up to when a decision is made by the Chargers. Joining the Rams in Los Angeles will be a hard fight that would see Oakland initiates all its resources in developing a new stadium.

Rams to make a comeback in Los Angeles

Rams to make a comeback in Los Angeles

It has taken 20 years for a deal to be struck. This deal involved bringing the St. Louis Rams back to Los Angeles. This gave a go ahead for San Diego Chargers to join the Rams but under a well stipulated deal. This comes after the proprietors of various land sections approved the motion. These are Alex Spanos, scion of the Chargers who has been the sole proprietor of the team for three decades and Stan Kroenke who is the leading controller of the flat land of Los Angeles. This land was formerly the Hollywood Park racetrack based in Inglewood. This is the ultimate place where a $2 billion stadium is scheduled to stand.

Kroenke claimed that it is based on luck that they have achieved this fate. At the same time, Alex’s son Dean Spanos claimed that this deal is crucial as he will be able to keep the interest of San Diego on the right track.

The deal of the franchise will pose a great threat for Mark Davis and his team Oakland Raiders. It was apparently claimed that Raiders and Chargers had entered into a deal to initiate a stadium in Carson which is 20 miles on the southern part of Los Angeles. The Carson project would late fall after it failed to acquire ¾ approval from the 24 committee members despite having hired Walt Disney chief executive Bob Iger to head the project.

A 12 hour discussion ended with the owners agreeing on Rams relocation. This would also a chance for Chargers to strike a deal with Kroenke. As the stadium is built, it is believed that both the Rams and Chargers will be using the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum as their respective home grounds.

The return of Rams to Los Angeles is a huge step in safeguarding the interests of NFL. LA has been the home for various sporting events Such as football with the LA Galaxy being the representatives as well as the LA Lakers taking the basketball centre stage. Now with NFL back with the Rams, Los Angeles will always remain the home of various sporting actions.

Promising NFL comeback portrayed by Jarryd Hayne

Promising NFL comeback portrayed by Jarryd Hayne

Since October, Jarryd Hayne has been in training for 49ers practice squad. This comes despite being among the 53-squad team for 49ers but would later be demoted to the practicing squad. The former Australian Rugby player was given the two months to have an expanded training on Football before making any entry in the pitch. His promotion followed an injury by guard Alex Boone who was placed among the reserves before he heals his knee. However, the D-day dawned for him and was in the match day squad to face Detroit Lions.

In their 32-17 loss, Hayne showed his amazing skills and was on the spotlight by making a total of 5 receptions and 9 carriers which total to 47 yards along the running back. This was inclusive for his outstanding 11 yard run that resulted positively with 49ers first touchdown. He also showed a classical five-yard reception but would later be pinned down by linebacker Tahir Whitehead.

During the preseason, Hayne was outstanding in all games making a number of appealing runs from his running back position and as a punt returner. This was however not the case at the beginning of the regular season for he made several fumbles with three punts where he lost one in his initial six games. Nonetheless, he finished with average returns of 9.5 yards. Injuries possessed by 49ers seem to give him a second opportunity to prove himself.

The team has a long list of injured players with the likes of Carlos Hyde suffering from a foot injury and Reggie Bush with a knee problem out for the rest of the season. Their replacements Shaun Draughn who made appearance in the first initial games got a knee problem while Mike Davis suffering from a hand injury is not expected back in the pitch no sooner than next week.

Promotion of Hayne comes at the ideal time despite the team having a new recruit DuJuan Harris who was signed last week as well as the services of running back Kendall gaskins. If Hayne is involved in various games after week 17, 49ers will have all the rights to possess him. If this doesn’t happen however, the team will accord him with reserve contract with hopes that he will make the cut for the official NFL squad when regular season resumes.
